The official currency in Rouble. You can easily exchange US dollars, Euros or Pounds for Roubles in Moscow and St. Petersburg. VISA and Mastercard are accepted by most businesses.

Do you have Internet access on board?

Our ship offers Wi-Fi. You may use your personal device or one of the ship’s computers in our Library. Due to the nature of data bandwidth and latency, as well as potential interruptions in satellite signals based on terrain and weather, you may experience slower online connections than you are accustomed to at home. We suggest that guests limit large uploads/downloads and live streaming. Please download your content prior to your cruise. We would be pleased to help you with your device settings once you are on board.
You will also be able to access standard Wi-Fi and data roaming services on shore in most cities and ports of call you visit.

Can you accommodate my dietary needs?

Every meal has vegetarian options on the menu, and our chef is able to prepare low-salt or gluten-free cuisine. If you have special dietary requirements (vegan, low salt, no pork, etc.) please alert us in advance and inform the Maître d’ when on board. The chef will make every effort to accommodate these requests.

Are all meals included on board? What beverages are included?

All Meals (B-L-D) on board Ms Volga Dream are included in your fare. Breakfast and lunch are informally impressive buffet offerings, and there’s always a set-menu choice at lunchtime. Dinner aboard is a grander occasion comprising four to five-courses that often feature fare from different parts of the world. Meals at lunch and dinner are accompanied by complimentary house wine, beer and soft drinks. Welcome & Farewell Cocktails, BBQ on the Sun Deck, Russian Dinner & Vodka Tasting and 24-hour Coffee Station are also included.

Do you allow smoking on board?

The Volga Dream interiors, staterooms and promenade decks are nonsmoking. This policy also applies to e-cigarettes. Smoking is only allowed in a specially designated outside area on the Sun Deck.

Do you offer pre-packed group tours which I can join?

Which shore excursions are included in the basic cruise price?

All shore excursions with a group of maximum 25 people accompanied by an English or German speaking guide are included in the basic cruise price.
Smaller groups (15 and 10 people max.) are offered within Platinum and Imperial packages.

What is the electrical voltage in Russia? What kind of converters will I need for my devices?

In Russia the power sockets are of type C and F; the standard voltage is 220V
[note: in the US & Canada the standard voltage is 110V). We advise to check if your electrical devices support the 220V power supply before using them in Russia. In case of devices with US, UK, Australian, and any other plug type, we strongly recommend to take the travel adapter with you.

We do accept most types of credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Circus, and American Express. Unfortunately, we do not accept travel checks and other forms of non-cash payment.

What is Volga Dream cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms:
days prior departure:
up to 61 days - 10% of trip fare per person
60 to 31 days - 25% of trip fare per person
30 to 16 days - 50% of trip fare per person
15 to 0 days - 100% of trip fare per person.

What is the local currency in Russia?

The official currency of Russia is the Russian Ruble. Visa, MasterCard credit / debit cards are accepted in most places, including shops, restaurants and hotels. American Express and Diners Club cards are not popular in Russia.

Are ATMs available on board?

Unfortunately, there are no ATMs on board the Ms Volga Dream. Please think through bringing enough Russian cash with you in advance.
ATM machines are very easy to find in Russian cities, so you can easily withdraw Russian Rubles from an ATM machine that usually provides the option to switch the language to English. Nevertheless, we highly recommend checking your bank's policies regarding exchange rates and fees for withdrawing money in another currency in a different country.

What are the amenities available in my stateroom?

All cabins have air conditioning and heating, spacious en-suite bathroom with shower, flat-screen TV, radio, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers, 220V outlets, complimentary bottled water, and a fruit basket on arrival.

Do you have an elevator?

Unfortunately, technical layout of the ship does not allow to build an elevator. Main stairs however, have been reconstructed in a way to make them less steep and more comfortable for walking.

Are the staterooms air-conditioned?

Yes, all Staterooms are equipped with easy-to-use air conditioning.

Will there be a hairdryer in my stateroom, or I need to bring one from home?

Yes, a hair dryer will be available in your stateroom.

Does Volga Dream have fitness facilities?

We have a fitness room equipped with fitness machines.

Is there an onboard shop?

We have a souvenir shop with a wide selection of Russian handicrafts on board.

The ship features small but modern basic medical facilities, staffed by a doctor who accompanies the ship at all the times. These facilities are equipped to provide medical care for illness or accidents that may arise during the cruise. They are not intended to provide ongoing medical treatment for pre-existing conditions. We suggest you bring adequate supplies of prescription medications and other health related items.

Do you have a special dress code?

We advise that our guests are dressed elegantly and comfortable during the cruise, but do not apply any special dressing requirements. For the Captain’s Welcome and Farewell Cocktails and also evening concerts cocktail dressing and jackets has been frequently chosen to wear by our guests.

What is the main language on board the Volga Dream?

Main on board language is English.

Can I send mail and make phone calls during the cruise?

You can make local or international calls directly from your room. If you would like to send a mail or a post card, our staff will be pleased to supply a stamp and assist in sending mail at the nearest port of call.

How do I pay for the drinks and optional services on board the ship?

During the cruise all extra expenses will be charged to your personal on board account which shall be cleared on the last day of the cruise.

My mother will celebrate her birthday on board the Volga Dream. Can you help me arrange a special reception for her?

If your relative will celebrate a special date during the cruise, our staff will be pleased to deliver champagne/flowers/a post card to their room or make other special arrangements.
